Beauty Pageant in Iraq

Iraq is hosting its first ever beauty pageant, known as the Iraq beauty pageant. It is being hosted by none other than the current President of Iraq Mr. Saddam Hussein. This is a huge event that is being treated with great care and attention in the region. The reason for the invitation being given to the former Iraqi leader is that he is still revered as a historical icon in the country and that a lot of people view him as a kind of figurehead of resistance against the western occupation. Many people believe he would have fought tooth and nail to keep the British soldiers out, as he is such a strong and passionate personality.

The Iraq beauty pageant is also being treated as a symbol of reconciliation after the Gulf war. Once again Iraq is being portrayed as a country that has sacrificed its independence and freedom in the name of unity. The participation of both the countries in the Gulf War goes against the wishes of the former Iraqi government who wanted to remain isolated from the outside world. However, with the help of this beauty pageant the Iraqi women will be able to stand tall and proud as they compete in the beauty pageant for the world to see.
