After being bullied for her weight as a teenager, Patty finds her revenge in beauty pageants. Disgraced lawyer Bob takes her under his wing and helps her win the local Miss Texas Blue Bonnet contest, but he has no idea how deep her rage goes or how far she’ll go to take it out on those who wronged her.
The bullying continues at school as Patty’s crush Brick is manipulated by a deranged classmate, Stella Rose. Stella also blackmails Bob and Coralee by showing him sex tapes of them together, forcing him to make his choice between the two. As the regional pageant approaches, Patty and Coralee compete to boost their chances of winning. But when Coralee gets a trailer-trash visit from her sister, she ditches Patty to pursue her own interests with the help of Christian.
At the memorial, news footage proves that Magnolia was drunk and foolish behind the scenes and could not have murdered Roxy. But when she is questioned about it, she claims short-term memory loss and brings Christian’s car to a junkyard to have it crushed.
