During the Miss Belgium 2020 beauty contest, held on January 11, 2020 at the Plopsaland Theater in De Panne, Belgium, the slippery stage paired with stairs proved difficult to manage for several candidates: during the first presentation of the candidates in evening gowns, future winner Celine Van Ouytsel fell down while descending the stairs and even lost a bra during her fall (which was inadvertently stuck in her long puffy sleeves and got unhooked during her fall), while future 1st Runner-Up Celest Decaestecker seriously tripped and nearly avoided falling down. Still during the first presentation, Inara Wytinck accidentally stepped on the train of Blandine Frennet’s long gown, forcing her to stop and awkwardly smile, while later during the pageant another candidate (Pauline Noyen) stumbled while descending the stairs during the Swimsuit Competition, and yet another candidate also tripped on stairs during the Grand Finale.
